Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology and Research Academy (SASTRA) is a university town Thirumalaisamudram, Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu, India. It offers a wide range of courses, technical courses to university and primary.

Starts in 1984 in the form of Shanmugha Faculty of Engineering, as it changes its name to Arts, Science, Technology and Research Academy. It offers graduate courses and graduate courses in engineering, science, education, leadership and art, including some doctoral programs.

Campus occupies a built up area of over 1.2 million square feet (1,15,000 sq ft) and has a population of more than 9,000 students.

The Institute has hostel of 8 boys and 4 girls' hostels to provide accommodation to over 5000 children and 3000 girls. A new hostel has been built to accommodate more on campus. Moreover, Wi-Fi area increased to around campus. The installation of Wi-Fi has expanded to include 7-Cube Wadi radio (wireless).

The university has been recognized as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (Siro), Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India. It ranked 10th among private engineering schools in the country by Outlook 2008th In spite of its not always better to go for placements, as there is always a possibility of manipulation and influence. His "School of Chemistry and Biotechnology" was ranked No. 1 among all private institutions in the country, and 2 (in general) in India.
